OUR STORY
Launched in April 2020 by Camara Omar GWenhaël, COG was created to show that fashion can be more responsible without losing style or wearability. Built around the principle of “Walk Clean”, the brand offers vegan alternatives to leather footwear, combining European production, animal-free materials and a commitment to better conditions for the people who make its shoes.
WHAT DOES THIS BRAND DO BEST
COG’s strength lies in making vegan footwear feel credible, practical and design-led. The brand focuses on everyday styles that balance comfort, durability and ethical production, with a clear emphasis on replacing conventional leather through plant-based, recycled and synthetic alternatives.
OUR MATERIALS
COG uses vegan materials sourced from European suppliers, including grape pomace-based imitation leather, repurposed cereals, recycled cotton, recycled plastic bottles, recycled polyester, bamboo, recycled rubber and recycled cork. The brand also uses synthetic microfibres and water-based polyurethane, with several materials carrying OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.
WHERE IT PRODUCES?
COG shoes are assembled in small family-run workshops in Portugal, near Porto. The brand works with European material suppliers, including partners in Italy, Spain and Portugal.
WHAT MAKES IT DISTINCT?
COG stands out for its strict vegan positioning, European supply chain and transparent approach to eco-design. Rather than claiming perfection, the brand focuses on concrete choices: animal-free materials, recycled and plant-based components, Portuguese craftsmanship, reduced overproduction, recycled packaging and regular collaboration with its workshops.
WHY DID ecomarket CHOOSE IT?
ecomarket stocks COG because it offers a strong combination of responsible materials, accessible design and ethical production. The brand fits a curated footwear selection through its vegan construction, European manufacturing, lower-impact material choices and clear commitment to animal welfare, worker wellbeing and practical everyday wear.
