Bernardo Duque Carreira returned to Portugal in 2017 with a bold vision. Inspired by a brainstorming session with friends, he set out to create something truly unique: a shoe crafted from cannabis fibers. Drawing on the expertise of his grandmother, Otilia—a seasoned textile specialist—Bernardo spent over a year partnering with top suppliers worldwide. The result is groundbreaking: the world’s first waterproof hemp shoe, designed to set new standards in sustainable, stylish footwear.

Supply Chain: Uses Ethical suppliers. 8000 Kicks' factories are located in China and Portugal. Both are closely monitored to guarantee above-living wages, safe working conditions, and benefits such as social security, meal vouchers, free healthcare, and education.

Manufacturing: 8000 Kicks factories use between 40% and 55% clean energy for production, significantly lowering carbon emissions. We further reduce our carbon footprint through hemp farming and tree-planting initiatives.
