Noel Klein-Reesink founded EKN Footwear in 2012 with a mission to redefine sustainable footwear. Inspired by a conversation with a cotton farmer in Burkina Faso, Noel committed to organic and ethical sourcing. Partnering with a former Adidas designer, he delved into every detail of production, from Portuguese factories to plant-based dyes and eco-friendly vegan leather. Today, EKN has grown globally, reflecting Noel’s unwavering dedication to sustainable, responsible fashion.

Materials: Organic Cotton and recycled materials such as mesh, microfibers and EVA (plastics derivates). Use Plant-based Dyes which are gentle on your skin and safe for the environment. Certifications: GOTS (learn more about certifications in our FAQ section)

Supply Chain: Uses Ethical suppliers. EKN assures fair wages and safe labor conditions are met.

Manufacturing: Handmade in Portugal in small quantities, EKN Footwear champions slow fashion over mass consumption. Water used in production is treated to return to drinking quality, and every step is designed to reduce the carbon footprint.
